We caught up with Gleb Klioner, who recently exceeded $85 million in real estate sales by closing a $10 million top floor corner unit at luxurious new construction Oceana Bal Harbour.
He has been representing high net-worth and celebrity clients for more than 25 years; first, as a motion picture talent agent in Beverly Hills, California and now as a real estate broker here in Miami. As a result, we asked Gleb, who understands what it takes to render quality representation with the utmost of confidentiality and professionalism, about his past, present, and future so that others may benefit from his success.
Tell us about your background and past experiences?
“Interestingly representing a client in the purchase or sale of their home or condo is not terribly different than negotiating a deal for an actor to star in a Hollywood movie; basically you are searching for a win-win situation favorable to both parties,” says Gleb. Responsible for Julia Stiles’ first studio film role in Paramount’s big hit Save the Last Dance (2001) and Charlize Theron’s first breakout film role in indie Two Days in the Valley (1996), Gleb recognizes talent when he sees it. Among many other famous actor and actress clients, Gleb’s most rewarding accomplishments during his seven years at United Talent Agency (UTA) involved helping director Christopher Nolan package and cast his first critically acclaimed feature-length film, Memento.
The film was so well received by festivals, audiences and critics that it propelled Nolan’s career to direct projects such as Batman Begins, The Dark Knight, The Dark Knight Rises, Inception, and Interstellar; all of which cemented Nolan in 2017 as the 5th highest grossing filmmaker of all time behind Steven Spielberg, Michael Bay, Peter Jackson and Robert Zemeckis. Though Gleb is no longer officially part of the entertainment industry, several internationally renowned celebrities have purchased and sold Miami properties using Gleb as their broker.
What makes you different than other realtors?
As a native of Miami, on any given day, Gleb can be found traversing the city from Downtown to South Beach, to Bal Harbour, to Sunny Isles and even Ft. Lauderdale – in search of properties for clients.
“I know it’s more work, but I pride myself on being up-to-speed on what’s happening throughout the entire city. Being a local expert is not enough especially when clients are moving from one neighborhood across town; either downsizing to a condo or upgrading from a condo to a house. Because Miami is evolving so rapidly you really need to have a big picture perspective. For example, when I represent a seller I don’t just list a property on the MLS and wait for the phone to ring. I am very proactive in using all of the marketing platforms and technologies currently available. That is something I learned while working in the entertainment industry. If you don’t stay on top of the latest technology and media – you won’t know what the marketplace is eating, breathing and thinking. Having that knowledge and vision gives me the confidence to deploy my time and money effectively into marketing campaigns that generate buyer leads for my sellers and the best deals for my buyers.”
Please tell our readers something about your personal life
When I am not working, I am very focused on spending quality time with my family and my community. Having a 5 year old, a 4 year old and a 2 year old all at the same time is a lot of fun, but also chaotic. For me and my wife its basically all about the kids right now.” Gleb currently lives in Miami Beach with his wife.
