Orlando is often only known as the city closest to Disney World, and as a result, far too many visitors miss out on all of the awesome things worth doing in this sunny city. The city with theme parks galore, and charming spots like Gatorland, has attractions that can’t be found anywhere else in the world. Orlando is a unique place, with more to do than just wandering around one of Disney’s many parks. Follow along, and we’ll show you some of the best things to do in Orlando that so many tourists are missing out on.

1. Walt Disney World

While Orlando has plenty to offer, it is practically impossible to talk about this city without mentioning “The Happiest Place on Earth.” Covering a stretch of a mind-blowing 27,000 acres, Walt Disney World, or Disney World for short, features four theme parks, two water parks, and twenty-seven resort hotels. More often than not, when people come to Orlando, they tend to stay on Disney’s park grounds. One could spend an entire week exploring Disney World, and still only scratch the surface of this massive theme park.

2. The Wizarding World of Harry Potter

Some would say that now is the best time to be a Harry Potter fan. With a new Harry Potter spin-off movie series and a Broadway play, it can be difficult to dispute that case. On top of all the new stories still being told, there is a Harry Potter theme park in Orlando known as The Wizarding World of Harry Potter. Located in the Universal Orlando Resort, this park lets visitors immerse themselves in the rich and somewhat obsessive world of Harry Potter. From drinking butterbeer by the stein to being fitted for your very own wand, The Wizarding World of Harry Potter certainly offers an experience unlike any other.

3. Snorkeling in the Crystal River

Have you always dreamed of swimming with manatees? Well, look no further than the Crystal River. Located just an hour from the heart of Orlando, the Crystal River sits just off the gorgeous coast of the Gulf of Mexico! Here tourists flock by the thousands to swim alongside the manatees that migrate to the warmer waters of the Crystal River. Nature lovers can rejoice, as these 3500-pound gentle giants swim upriver on a regular basis, some visitors witnessing as many as 20 manatees at a time.
